Biography

A chartered engineer with over 25 years’ experience of operations and supply chain management across a broad range of industrial sectors.

Jan founded and leads the Supply Chain Research Group and Supply Chain in Practice (SCiP) industrial collaborator forum and network at WMG, University of Warwick. With a strong focus on public engagement SCIP runs a successful series of quarterly networking events, and the bi-annual Global Supply Chain Debate. She seeks to be innovative in the way she engages industry, policy makers and the public at large in the largely invisible world of supply chains. Jan has commissioned physical artwork, poems, storytelling and demonstrators to help improve understanding of supply chains and drive societal change.

Dr Kate Bailey

Principal Engineer of Operations and Supply Chains

Biography

Kate has over 20 years of experience in the field of Operations and Supply chains. She started her career in operational roles in the electronic contract manufacturing and automotive industries, including working for Toyota. She has spent the last few years working both in research and consultancy, helping companies to build more effective supply chains and operations. She gained her PhD in 2016, which examined the robustness of UK food supply chains in light of global pressures. She joined WMG in 2018 and is responsible for the delivery of the applied research portfolio for the group.

Dr Joshua Ignatius

Associate Professor of Supply Chain Analytics & Decision Making

Supply Chain Analytics; Big Data; Digital Platforms; Behavioural Operations Management

Biography

He is a decision scientist who draws upon a diverse range of skill sets ranging from statistics, optimisation to machine learning. He has designed, trained and implemented decision support systems for supply chain and logistics processes for both service and manufacturing sectors for companies such as Intel, Dell, Motorola, Jabil and Sumitomo. His consulting projects have appeared as applications in Q1 journals such as European Journal of Operational Research, Transportation Research Part E, Knowledge-Based Systems, TECHNOVATION and Experts Systems with Applications. He is the recipient of the Endeavour Executive Award for high achieving professionals in 2010/11 by the Australian Government.

Leyla Miray Kaya

Project Engineer of the Supply Chain Group

Biography

Miray received her BSc Degree in Industrial Engineering in SIUE and completed her MSc Degree in Management at UCL.

She started her career at Bayer AG as a Procurement Intern and in 2012 she started to work as a Material Planning Specialist. Afterwards, she completed Management Trainee Program where she worked in operational and strategic part of supply chain in various countries such as Germany, UK and Switzerland. Before joining WMG in November 2018, she worked as a Supply Network Planner and a Team Lead of one brand.
